Requirements

• Visual Studio 2017, 2019 & 2022

• Windows 10 & 11 (x64 builds only)

Setup

Important

Prior to installing Recode it is recommended that you close any running Visual Studio instances.

If any Visual Studio instances are left running the installer will ask for permission to close them itself. Please ensure you save any edited files before proceeding to avoid data loss.

To install Recode run the VSIX installer, for instance: Recode-5.0.0.0.vsix.

This installs:

• The Recode binaries and tools.

• The Recode Visual Studio Extension.

Once Recode installation is complete, load your Visual Studio solution and check your Build Settings settings.

Hint

If you left any Visual Studio instances open during Recode installation you may need to reopen them to reload the Recode extension.

Updates

Once Recode is installed the Recode Visual Studio Extension will make periodic checks for Recode updates from Indefiant. You can manually force a check by selecting Check for Update... from the Recode menu in Visual Studio.
